What’s in a name?

How are you all choosing your baby names? I am 33 weeks and overwhelmed!! We have a running list of names that we like, but we haven’t been able to settle on anything. I think we may need to actually see our baby boy before choosing one, but I just haven’t felt like any name is just right. We have many family names that we love, but I just can’t seem to settle on just one. Help!!

I felt bad because with my first we had her name picked as soon as we found out her gender. This little guys name has been tough we have names we like but when we picked my daughters ot felt special and we just knew that was her name. I just dont feel that way this time around. I told hubby we will just have to wait till he comes and we see him.

With my first 2 when we found out I was pregnant we had both gender names picked out very early. With my son I knew his middle name before his first name because it would be his father's and grandfather's middle name to keep it in the family. I stayed stuck on a few names with him for his first name and kept dwindling them down until I only had 2 Noah and Nolan, his father liked Nolan better so we went with that. With my third, I also had names for both genders sorta picked out except this time it took longer to settle on the final name because I had one I liked and he had one he liked, it wasn't until we picked the middle name that he went with my choice of first name. With my 4th I'm pregnant with now we already knew what the girl name was gonna be before I got pregnant but had disagreements on the boy name. Thankfully she's a girl and the stress of picking names and disagreeing on it didn't happen. My advice would be, if you're struggling on a name, wait until you see your baby for the first time and see what name fits his face better. It's the way it was done before we had the ability to know the gender before birth so there's nothing wrong with it, sometimes it turns out better that way

I always gotta wait to see them! And we never know the gender until birth. My first didn’t have a name for 3 days after being born LOL - just couldn’t decide. You’ve got something like 10 days to report it - unless your Russian Orthodox then you get longer. My second we named a few hours after she was born. These two will probably take some time - two names is hard to choose!
