Age gap an issue here?

I’m 24 and recently started seeing a 34 year old guy. So far we click but is this concerning to you? I don’t see the issue, few friends have told me that’s a big age gap mentally and asking why he can’t find or be with women his own age. I mean we’re both adults here.

The only red flag would be if you see signs of him trying to control you, have the upper hand over you, get you financially dependent etc. That can happen with any age gap but some older guys can target younger women for that reason. However thats of course not most cases. My best friend's husband is 10+ years older than her and hes great.

You’re so young! My advice would be to take an honest look at why he is with someone a whole decade younger and be aware you are likely to outgrow him. Don’t take your prime for granted or waste it on the wrong person. Just be prepared for you guys to be on different levels the older you both get, you’ll have more energy to do things or he’ll want kids sooner than you, etc. I’m 29 and personally couldn’t see myself with a 39 year old.

My parents had the same age gap my mom was 22 my dad was 32… they showed me age is just a number… my husband is 7 years older than me… age difference shouldn’t  matter to anyone outside the relationship

Some people need to mind their own lives. What works for some might not work for others. The biggest gap I’ve had in a relationship was 16 years and for 2 years we had a perfectly normal relationship. I’ve always being more mature and drawn to older men because of that. Now my husband and I have a 6 year gap. But if it’s working (for as long as it does) and you’re happy then enjoy it.

As long as you’re both on the same page regarding future wants and goals (for example if you both want children does he want them sooner than you are likely to) then I don’t really see how it’s an issue. Like you said you’re both adults and everyone knows their own maturity levels and compatibility. If you’re both ok with the age gap then don’t worry about anyone else’s opinions ☺️
