Do you think it’s trashy to have a shower for your 2nd baby?? 😬

We suffered from years of secondary infertility trying for another child. Our daughter will be 7 by the time our son is born! After finding out we probably wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally, we decided to put those days behind us… of course we ended up pregnant just months after finally purging all our baby items 🙃 (not complaining - we are so thankful for our miracle baby!!!) So some of our family members want to throw us a shower to help prepare for the new baby, but we also have a lot family that clearly thinks you shouldn’t have more than one baby shower 😬😬 I don’t want to seem greedy or upset people, butttt we could really use the help getting everything together - not to mention we love a reason to celebrate! Maybe I shouldn’t care so much about the opinions of others but I’m just curious what you guys think!! Thanks!!

I have 7 and 4 year old sons and I’m pregnant with twin girls. We got rid of all our baby stuff as our youngest outgrew it and the car seats are expired so we’re starting from scratch. I wasn’t going to have a shower, I did for my first, and I had all his stuff for my second, but people are outraged at the thought of me not having a shower. I say all that to say, do whatever you want. If you throw one, people will think it’s tacky, if you don’t people will have an opinion on that too. So do whatever the hell you want lol what others think, doesn’t matter.

No it’s not trashy, I have never understood why anyone cares. If they don’t want to, they don’t have to come. I’d show up to a shower for someone I love even if they had 10 of them lmao

I’m pregnant with our second baby girl and my mom wants to throw us a baby shower. We are a single income family. My husband works and I’m home with our 2 years old daughter. Every baby is a miracle and deserves to be celebrated! I told my mom she could throw us one because there are some stuff we do need that we can’t really afford. So, have that baby shower and enjoy every single bit of it! You guys deserve it 🤍

Throw it. I had a baby shower with my first and with my 4th. I made it exceedingly clear that we didnt expect people to bring gifts, we just wanted to celebrate, and most people brought gifts anyway! Of course i only had 2 people from my family there at both so the first was mostly women from my nanas church and the second was mostly his family.(different dads)  But still worth it! Just do you and celebrate everything worth celebrating!

No it’s not trashy! This baby is the opposite gender so different things are needed. I have two girls currently & I didn’t have a shower with my second because I still had a lot of stuff from my 1st pregnancy. But you are having the opposite gender so have that baby shower!!
