Worried after being hit last night

Last night my now ex beat me, he hit me in the back of the head probably 20 times and my head hurts really bad right now and I’m scared because I’ve read about people dying or going into a vegetative state from being hit in the back of the head. Do you think if I was going to die or be in a vegetative state it would’ve happened by now? And before anyone says to leave, I did leave and I’m with a friend now. I’m just worried I have brain damage now
