Help! How pregnant am I?

Question

I’m reading that pregnancy counts 40 weeks from first day of last period. So, how pregnant am I? I ovulated late like cycle day 17 or 18 so when I did an early ultrasound the embryo measured younger than expected.
According to the ultrasound’s measurement: 9 weeks. 
According to last period: 10 weeks. 
So what is it??? 9 or 10 weeks?

You go by dr measurements. I’m 14 weeks 5 days today. If we went off the date of my last period I would be 21 weeks and give birth at 47 weeks pregnant in June. That wouldn’t make any sense. The date of your last period actually doesn’t really have anything to do with your due date. I didn’t have a period in August or September and tested negative for pregnancy in September, and then positive pregnancy in October.

The measurments can be slightly off (whether measuring ahead or behind). I know exactly when my last period was and when i ovulated and my measurements were slightly bigger when i had my ultrasound. It all just depends

I would go with whatever day your doctor tells you. It’s all an estimate anyway so it doesn’t really matter.
