What my mom said about my fiancé

Today my mom said something that bothered me. And idk if I should tell my fiancé about it.

Today we were talking about my fiancé. And my mom says “ you two have a lot in common. I feel like you’re the same person”. And I thought that was good thing and a compliment. And I said “wow really? What do you think we have in common?”

Waiting for her to say nice things…

She says “ well.. you’re both naive and gullible”

And I was like “ uhm what??? What do you mean??”

And she said “well you’re both too trusting and I’ve always thought you were naive growing up”

It kind of hurt my feelings. But I also don’t understand why she would think that of my fiancé.

I don’t know if I should tell him about it. Cause I don’t want him to be offended and mad. But I would like to talk to him about it because it upset me.

What do you think about it ???

Also I’m 29 and he’s 30 years old.
