Twin twice in a row??

Question

I am currently 3 months PP with my daughter. She was a twin, we lost her twin early at around 8wks in my first trimester. I had a very rare case that the twins were in the same sac but had their own placentas. If the twin pulled through it would have been a dangerous pregnancy for my body. Two questions-
1.Has anyone experienced what I had before?
2.what are my chances becoming pregnant with twins again??

Sounds unlikely. Identical twins are random. 
Vanishing twins is very common in twin pregnancies. My mom had 3 singletons and then a 4th twin pregnancy that ended up being a vanishing twin (it took 4 months to even realize she was ever pregnant and that one was still growing 🤯 she’s 24 now).

Since your twins were in the same sac, they would have been identical twins (came from the same embryo), which is generally considered a genetic “fluke”, so there would not be an increased chance of twins based on that pregnancy. If they were fraternal twins, there could have been an increased chance.

Lots of people experience vanishing twins. They average about 25% of twin pregnancies. Twins are about 3% of pregnancies. And it would depend on the type of twins they were to predict how likely it would be. Twins happen for different reasons. Some are genetic, if that’s the type you were having then your chance of having them again is higher than the type of twins that happen randomly. Do you know what type they were?

I had a vanishing twin with my second pregnancy, now on my 4th and all have been singletons. I do know I’ve see a couple online somewhere and they had 3 sets of twins in a row and that was all the kids they had so it is possible I guess to conceive but just extremely rare
