Why do people gotta make things more awkward than they need to be

A store I work at does Amazon returns and there was this guy that looked college age coming up asking if he could make a return for a friend. I said sure as long as he had the QR code. It was print out and he handed me the item. It was a manga and I could tell by the title this was a BL. More specifically a yaoi. It was literally titled praise me when I'm a good boy. If you don't know what BL(boy love) or a yaoi is.... Look it up. And honestly I really don't care. But he made it so weird because he kept saying he was returning it for a friend and that he can't believe a friend would read that trash. I shrugged. He goes "You know I have a girlfriend." I said "That's great." He said "Yeah. She's pretty. My friend needs a girlfriend. I would never read that." I didn't say anything. He kept trying to convince me while I was doing his return that he didn't purchase this. Then slipped up by asking when he should expect a refund. Then starts blushing and goes "When should my friend expect a refund." Like God. If home boy wants to read a manga about an anime guy getting piped by another anime guy I don't care but why do this whole weird thing. Most of us don't care what you're returning or why.
