Do You Think He'll Regret This?

My boyfriend and I are having our first, this is our first kid ever as individuals and as a couple so everything is still new but I wanted some insight cause i'm not sure if i'm worrying too much or not.

So my boyfriend works at an accounting firm and as we all know, it's tax season right now until April(i'm due in March) and all firms are all hands on deck right now. He just got this job a month ago after his prior boss fired him over text because he was too cheap to continue paying most of his employees. So it's not like his previous job where he was there for a year plus... but he hasn't told his current employers that we're having our first child in March, he explained to me he will not even leave work if i start going into labor while he's at work before he got started on his job, and he says with confidence he will not regret not being there as long as our baby is healthy and safe and i'm healthy and safe.

I'm okay with him not being there because i have my amazing supportive mother, my midwife, and we're looking into hiring a doula as well. But i'm really afraid he will regret not being there for his first ever child. No matter how many more kids we have he will never be able to recreate the first time experience. I can't and won't force or convince him to rethink his decision because when he makes up his mind he's just not the type to hear it. But i worry for his sake that he will unfortunately regret it more than he knows.
