No sex

Hi all. I’m kind of struggling. I’ve been with my bf for 3 years. When we first started dating, we would be intimate maybe once a week or at least every other week. We then had to go long distance. It was fine at first and we would be intimate almost every visit (monthly), but it’s been getting less and less frequent to now I don’t remember the last time we had sex (maybe May?).

He says that he needs time to feel connected again so it’s hard for him to be intimate on our visits (going from 0% to 100%), but it’s starting to bother me. I brought it up again two months ago but he just reiterated the same thing. He still says he loves me and he has a chronic illness that makes it extra hard for him to have the energy.

It’s not like I’m dying to have sex but I do want a partner I’m intimate with. I guess I kinda feel like there’s a disconnect and he’s not attracted to me even though he says he is. I just want to have sex with my boyfriend and I don’t know what to do.
