Should i be upset?

So i am 30 weeks pregnant(tomorrow exactly) and have been waiting for my mother in law to sort out my baby shower since she begged and begged me to host it which of course i appreciated the idea. Now she tells me that she thinks its a bad idea to throw a shower for me because i quote "Nobody will show up and nobody will get you anything, so why should i waste money on it?" Which was honestly a little offensive. This is also my last baby i will be having and ive never got a baby shower so this was kind of my last chance to and its completely ruined now. Im also super stressed because i was waiting to buy alot of the things for my baby girl in anticipation of thia baby shower and now i find out its not happening. Should i be feeling some type of way about this? Cause honestly im kind of annoyed and disappointed. Feels like nobody cares about me or the baby :(
