Is this a date?

My friend (ex) invited me to go to a friend’s birthday party with him.

Yes he’s my ex. Although we only dated for about 3 months, I do consider him an ex.

However we are cool friends! Lately I’m getting a little anxious and I’m not sure I’m reading too much into this. Last week we hung out and I had a horrible flu. He called me last night to check how I was and to recommend some herbal medicine. He told me I can find it any local Mexican store and was telling me to gargle salt water. I thanked him for the recommendations. I told him he’s my doctor, therapist, lawyer, body guard, etc etc. he’s a great listener and when I was going through a huge lawsuit he was helping me with advice that’s why I said lawyer. He laughed and said it’s an honor to be all that for me.

Before we hung up he told me he wants to invite me to a birthday party next weekend. He said “if you’re feeling better I would like for you to come with me”

I said I would be happy! Is this considered a date ? I’m going to meet his friends and some family. I never did when I dated him. So I’m a bit anxious
