Too many ultrasounds unsafe?

Hi girls 
I’ve had 4 scans so far during my pregnancy I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and have my 20 week scan in 2 weeks time but I just find the nhs scans gap so long and would just like to check on how baby is doing time to time but can having too many scans be unsafe for baby?

Radiographer here:
Ultrasound have sound waves and no radiation is involved therefore it is completely safe. To remind you, ultrasound rays does generate some heat that is measured by mechanical index. As per some studies, the mechanical index is never above the limit however, in internal ultrasound the probe can be too close to the fetus can this can generate some heat closer to the fetus, the sonographer always ensures to stay under the limit thus making ultrasound safe. With my high risk pregnancy I lost count of how many scans I had. I had 1 a week starting at 28 weeks so that was 11 right there. It was probably somewhere around 20 total. obviously they were medically necessary so the risk didn’t outweigh the reward.

During my 4th pregnancy i had multiple scans due to losing my 3rd baby. I had one at 5 weeks 6 days, 7 weeks 6 days, 9 weeks and some change, 12 weeks, 14weeks, 16 weeks and 20 weeks. Then baby didnt cooperate to get all the photos they needed so i went back at 24 and then at 36 my ob wanted to verify baby was head down so we did a quick peak then too. So i had 9 that whole pregnancy not counting the one they did in labor

With my first I was going every week since I was high risk my little one is now 28 months and he’s healthy.
