Wondering if I have HSV

Do you get cold sores?

I used to get cold sores at the beginning of the school year like clockwork as a child. Never got them toward high school. I occasionally get a bump on my lip when chapped but it typically goes away without a scab process. I currently have a boyfriend of 3 months and I really love him. Should I get tested for HSV? Should I tell him I’m could possibly have it? What are the odds of me giving him genital herpes even though i’ve never had it? Should i wait it out? Or maybe wait for an outbreak? literally crying rn because this has never occurred to me
