Tanning tips

How do you tan in the sun? Its starting to warm up and Ive finally got the confidence and motivation even in my plus size weight to get out and get my tan back. I used to be a nice bronze color, but now I am PALE. I want my color back. Are there any tricks to helping your skin tan? Im not worried about burning. Ive always tanned out when Ive burned. Ive never peeled and such in my life. Not bragging, just saying I am not worried about it. My only concern is that Ive had heatstroke twice and dont want a 3rd.
