Ritalin 4 year old?

Question

Anyone medicate their four year old? Before I get bad comments. We have tried everything! She doesn’t have sugar or any dyes and we do chiropractic care every week, we have tried parenting courses and different parenting styles and nothing has worked. She is doing things that could really hurt her and no one wants to be her friend or have her over. I am so conflicted. I just don’t know what to do.

I personally would never medicate a young child. I'd do behavioral therapy instead and add lots of extra stimulating activities designed for nurodivergent hyperactive children.

I worked with children on the autism spectrum for many years, both in the classroom and ABA therapy within their homes. We wrote food programs used in both places and when the correct mix of nutrition was given, children thrived and there was a definite difference in their behavior over time.  Are you giving her lots of sugar and/or foods containing high amounts of carbs? She’s still young enough to tweak her diet, so that she will eat more proteins…(cheese stick, kids low sugar Greek yogurt with a tsp of granola, no/low sugar cereals with a bit of fruit, peanut butter on a bagel half, etc.), especially in the morning. Try increasing her water intake. Make it fun! 🥰
We all realize that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and if you can pack her with plenty of protein first thing every morning, you’ll probably see a definite change!

My 4 year old takes guaficine time release during the day & clonidine at night cutting things out made literally 0 difference shes got adhd and odd she got a swab done for us to find the right medicine that would work for her

It sounds like she has a lot of energy. Does she have an outlet for that energy? Is she getting any physical activity during the day?￼ I would look into putting her into activities like gymnastics, dance, cheer, Soccer, etc. ￼There could be less expensive classes offered through your town. Like in my town, the parks and recs department offers tons of activities for very inexpensive. ￼
I recently read something that said some children are naturally more of risk, takers and impulsive, and they need to do things that challenge that need. Maybe join a gym that has a climbing wall or obstacle course ￼or something of that nature?

Does she have adequate nutrients? Meaning a full balanced diet? Most 4 year olds don’t. Try an organic multivitamin. 
Have her checked for deficiencies, intolerances, allergies. Does she get enough natural vitamin d; from the sun? 
Have you tried Nat Pat patches? I know first hand they work really well. 
What kind of therapy have you tried?

What is her pediatrician’s recommendation? And do you trust her pediatrician?

Have you tried a non stimulant medication? If her doctor has approved trying medication I’d definitely try a non stimulant first
