Mom said it’s bad luck to buy baby clothes?

I’m 13 weeks. I want to buy baby clothes for my baby girl cause I just want to! They’re so cute and I’m excited to build her closet. My mom told me not to cause it’s bad luck cause “you never know what could happen” and then I’m just stuck with all this stuff. This makes me feel so sad I just want my baby to have cute clothing that I want to dress her in 😭 but now I don’t know….

Buy whenever you want, not when others say. I have always bought my littles stuff early on.

I have three babies and bought them all things early on. For one thing, it’s cheaper to buy a little as you go vs buying all at one time + it’s so fun to nest and bond with your baby in this way. I imagine women in the old days knitting their babies sweaters and boots while pregnant daydreaming about their unborn babe

Anything could happen to any pregnancy at any time. Preparing early will NOT magically increase risks. Forget her, buy whatever you want for YOUR baby as early as you want. 
IF something unfortunate happens you can keep the things you purchased for memories or a future pregnancy or sell/give away but don't put too much thought into that. Enjoy preparing for your baby.
I started buying things around 10 weeks myself.

I agree, go ahead a buy whatever you want for your baby. I’m 8 weeks next week and as soon as I do my next ultrasound I will start buying.
