What would you do if you can’t find a specialty job in your field?
Hi,
I am a part time healthcare worker. I am wanting to specialize in a form of women’s health in which I have limited experience. I have been applying since Jan to a lot of women’s health healthcare positions, but I have had no fortune. I have landed interviews, but idt I am the ideal candidate. I am working pt in my current healthcare role, but I am struggling financially so I really want full time (M-F) work. I used to be able to pick up shifts working pt, however, my daycare needs have change due to my home daycare limited availability and my family lives an hour away, so when my daycare isn’t available, I have to commute 2-3x per week to my family. I am a single mom to one child. I am currently in a doula course to help boost my resume and it also complements my goal of being and working in women’s health. I am not certified yet, but I am close to being certified.
I am not sure if I want to step away from my healthcare career for a few months to see if I can find another job in my other career path which is writing. I have skills such as content, editing, hosting events, self-published a book, etc.
I am stressed due to this right now and I am not too sure if I can continue to apply to the other healthcare role and getting told no as I am trying to save money, but also would like to work full time in my healthcare role.
Any advice or recommendations would be great. Thanks
