Break up over text?

Very controversial topic.. I’ve tried to leave on multiple occasions in person and he literally will talk over me as I’m saying I want to break up. Or he will say exactly the right things and then I get weak and don’t leave. It’s been over a year of trying to do this.

My therapist says I can send a text and just stop answering. I feel bad like it shows the relationship didn’t mean anything to me but I truly think it’s the only way I’ll be able to do it. I keep trying over and over again and the relationship just isn’t working.
