Kids online

For all those parents with kids old enough to navigate the internet. My kids are grown adults now, but I was wondering with how accessible and easy it is for kids to come across predators. My kids were quite young when they played online games but I spoke to them prior about possibly coming across sick adults who liked little kids and what the word paedo**** meant. My son was on Roblox and had a grown man had said something inappropriate to him he was only 6 years old at the time and back then I didn’t realise how bad that game was for predators targeting children anyway we reported them but as my son got more confident at recognising and speaking up for himself he started naming and shaming them warning other children to stay away from the weirdo who tried to chat him up, I think around the time my son was about 14/15 years old he came across a grown ass man trying to chat up a 10 or 12 year old girl who was getting targeted, he stepped in, my son used some pretty foul language a long the lines of calling him a disgusting creep and what the F is wrong with him she’s a little girl you F ing paedo an to F off. He was so angry telling me what happened, he was like ma it’s one thing if a weirdo comes after me because i know how to handle it, but he gets so angry when it happens to other kids that don’t know how to recognise inappropriate behaviour and have trouble standing up for themselves. I might have told my kid’s stuff a little to young like what the word paedo**** means but I wouldn’t change a thing I was a young mum trying my best to protect them, the first time I experienced the internet dail up was mid 90’s being a mum the internet was all pretty new. My kids that are adults now, said they’re glad I had open conversations about stuff like that. I was only 19 and 21 years old when I had my kids I’m 40 this year and probably won’t be having anymore kids this late in life

but there’s nothing in place to stop hubby and I from having 1, anyway when it comes to online stuff like gaming social media or possibly ending up on a wrong website how do you protect your children from predators online bullying ? It must be hard in this day and age
