Can anxiety pills help with depression too?😖

So i have more depression and sadness and anger than my anxiety... its even worse than anxiety. My husband left me and my kids yesterday and idk what to do.. my heart hurts so bad and i feel hopeless and disgusting and i put the blame on me even if it wasnt me. .. i been having depression though off and on in my life since 16. I am 30 now. I just never went to treat it only my anxiety... what do i do.. it boosted up million times worse now that my husabnd left me... i need help....

Many anxiety meds are used to treat both. If you're taking an SSRI or an SNRI, those are commonly used for both. If you're taking a benzodiazepine, such as Xanax, that wouldn't be used for both, just anxiety. You should consult your primary care physician to see if they want to change your therapy. Anxiety can also be a symptom of depression. Treating the depression will likely help the anxiety too. Treating the anxiety likely won’t impact the depression.
