measuring a week behind

had some bleeding last night after sex, and i've already been having cramping to one side (left) with working. it does move to both sides and the top of my pelvis but it still favors the left side. i decided to go to the er due to my OB's direction given that they can't get me in until august 6th. based on my Imp im 6 weeks 3 days today. but with the ultrasound they did at the er i'm measuring a week behind at 5 weeks 1 day. they were able to see a fetal pole but no heartbeat given that im measuring behind. my hge levels are in the 4,000s and they recommended me get another draw in 48-72 hours.

is this bad? she said it could be due to late ovulation, implantation, or the pregnancy stopped progressing and that it's too early to tell but my levels doubling to the 8,000s in the second draw could give some insight. idk how to feel. any advice?
