Birth control options

Im 42 and I stopped birth control because i had been using them over 15 years but i was advised by a doctor to stop because of my age and the risk of blood clots. But honestly i don’t know what method to use now that is safe and make intimacy pleasurable. Im glad my body is working hormones free but the pill was the best option. Any other methods that work as the pill? The IUD won’t work for me because the doctor said i have no children. So i don’t know what else to do. Any advice?
