Asking for birth control

So this is embarrassing but I am 23 years old and petrified of asking the doctor for a birth control prescription. I don't know if it's how I was raised or what but I feel like the doctors will judge me if I ask. I do tell them I'm sexually active if they ask but My face turns bright red and I have like an anxiety attack. Did anyone else have this phobia? How did you cope with it. I know it sounds so dumb.
