Diaper changing a nightmare?

Anyone else have this problem? My daughter is 16 months old I’m a first time mom & and I absolutely dread changing her diaper, she will scream , bang the back of her head in the ground, or bang her legs on the ground. I’ve tried giving her something and distracting her but that only worked for a short period of time and I’ve tried stand up changes , not much of a difference, she will pull away and scream. It’s exhausting. Especially in public she will scream like I’m hurting or something it’s embarrassing. Any tips or tricks? With she eventually out grow this? Should I start trying to potty train or have her where pull ups? Any advice is great.
