This is still effecting my daughter 2 years later
My daughter is 17 now and when she was 15 her and her friends were walking down to the lake and found a body. Not joking. And sadly that's not the first body who had been found in that lake. Obviously she lost her mind and called me first before calling the police. They didn't know who it was at first. It was a male body and they were naked. He was identified as a 17 year old boy who went to my daughters high school but she didn't know him personally. His case is still opened to this day nobody knows what happened to him. Just he died from a blunt force to the head and believe the body was assaulted. There was a memorial and my daughter saw a therapist for a little while and you would think 2 years later it wouldn't be effecting her still. She won't go ANYWHERE by herself. She used to be so independent. She would walk to the corner store(it's barely a 10 minute walk) in the middle of the night but now she won't even go in the day alone. She doesn't like leaving the house much and she says she can still see his face in her dreams. I'm worried about her. It's been 2 YEARS and she didn't even know him personally. This didn't even effect her friends that badly. At least not 2 years. She needs to move on but is so stuck in that moment.
@Kim no I've never seen a murdered child but I've work on a hospice center and have seen people die all the time. Granted most of them were elderly but I've definitely been around death.
