Hiv blood test

I went to the doctor two days ago for my yearly check up and i just looked at my paper they give you at the end of the visit. They ran a bunch of blood tests for my liver and kidneys to make sure its all good. I saw on the paper that they also are running a 4th gen hiv test on me. I thought it was odd that they didnt tell me that they were doing that. I called today to see about the results and the woman only told me that they were waiting on the vitamin d test to come back. Would she have told me my results if they were something to be worried about? Or do i have to wait for my follow up appointment?
