GBS test ?

So this is my third pregnancy & I just had to do the Group B Strep swab…. But they had me do it myself ????? Is that normal? Lol. I’ve literally never had to do that on my own, the last 2 pregnancies the dr did it. Just wondering if anyone else had their nurse or dr tell them to do it themselves. I’m worried I didn’t do it well enough or something.

Edit: okay thanks. Just never had to before, so different experience than w my last two babies. I had my first 8 years ago & another baby just a year ago & they did it for me both times. If there’s no reason for the provider to do it then I wonder why they did in the past.
