When to take an infant to the pool

Question

How old do you think an infant should be to go to the pool for the first time? My only concern is the chlorine irritating my little ones skin.

I saw this thing on Facebook I think a spa for infants.. They put these foam floaty things around their neck (sounds creepy, looked comfy) and put them in warm pools. Babies only hours old were "swimming" 😂 it was adorable and odd lol

I was a lifeguard instructor for several years, and I'd wait till around 4 months. But I hope to have my LO in the pool early as well.

My son was 6 months but that's because he was born in Sept and the water wasn't warm enough till then. (Outside pool) I would have felt comfortable with 4 months though!

They have mommy/infant swimming classes- I think they have to be 6 months though, but I'm not sure. A lot of pools use bromine instead of chlorine - not that it makes a huge difference. My LO was in the pool around 9 months (I think) with no issues.

NEVER....pools are germ pools basically..kids peeing...ew. unless its your own private pool i wouldnt swim in a pool of chemicals...deff not putting my baby in it.
