Surrogate Cost

Is anyone willing to share how much you as a surrogate got paid or you as an IP paid your surrogate? We are planning an independent journey and met an amazing surrogate but they want us to propose the payment. I’ve seen anywhere from $15,000 to $60,000 or more. I don’t want to ruin our relationship with too low of an offer, but I also don’t want to pay significantly more than they are willing to accept. I respect surrogates so much and I know they are giving us a huge blessing. It’s not about being ungrateful. We are going the independent route so that this dream is something we can afford and it just feels like we are bidding against ourselves.
