Has anyone ever used this car seat from the newborn stage? It comes with a newborn insert, but it doesn’t look very comfortable & I’m not sure if it’s safe to purchase a different insert.

I have no comments about this carseat, I will say though nothing bought aftermarket should ever be used I a carseat of any kind.

I love this seat. We did not buy it from birth and I kinda wish we hadn’t wasted money on a separate one, started before 1 year though. but I do say infant bucket seats are great for the carrying the sleeping baby! I would read the recommendations for carseatsforthelittles.com and she explains how it fits to a newborn and how to use only the included newborn insert and newborn routing to fit super small size babies. This one has multiple wonderful tilt options that provide the correct recline for their neck. I say it is great for a long last rear facing car seat as long as you feel comfortable with the requirements for each stage, such as when you take the newborn insert out and switch from latch to seatbelt based on weight etc, so always keep the manual handy because they gain weight/height so fast!
