Clothing confusion

Ok i know ill sound silly sorry for that but its first time
Mom to be here and i am so confused in terms of buying clothes for my baby like how many newborn sizes should i buy and how many 0-3 
What size and fit exactly should i carry to the hospital? A nurse told me to carry a pajama set for first day as babies have bellybutton and it hurts them in sleep-suits. I really don’t know what’s an ideal purchase so far i just got whatever caught my eye interms of cuteness

I made the mistake of only taking newborn clothes. When I gave birth to my daughter, she was born really small and could’ve fit in preemie clothes, so with this baby, I’m gonna be taking something, preemie, newborn, and 0 to 3.  ￼one of each probably. I didn’t put any outfits or anything like that on my daughter when we were in the hospital because for the most part she was swaddled or we were doing skin to skin. ￼

First time mom her as well:) just had our baby on 4/20. The hospital provided us with endless swaddles and diapers and all other necessities for the baby so we didn’t use any clothes for her til the day it was time to go home specially cuz there were nurses in and out of the room throughout the whole day checking on the baby and doing tests n stuff. 
We took two newborn outfits and two 0-3 months and thank god we did cuz she was born weighing 9.11 pounds and only one of the 0-3 outfits fitted her cuz the other was too short on the legs lol 
You can also ask the hospital to do a tour ahead of time to see what to expect and they should be able to show you around and give you some tips if you want.

For some reason it doesn’t list the onesies in recommendations, but I like this brand. Remember that the number means the max age, so if you buy 0-3 size, it should not fit by 3 months old. It’s confusing. My 6 month old is wearing 18 month old clothing, so the sizes aren’t super helpful. I also prefer a slightly looser fit so they have better movement (but not dangerously loose). 
Don’t buy a lot of NB. They either won’t fit it at all at birth, or you’ll only wear them for 1-2 weeks.
