Prompted by the surprising fact that some people still believe the fake pizzagate story, despite the fact that the origin of conspiracy has been known for a while and the conspiracy never did add up anyway.

So, I ran across this quote in a BBC article from back in 2016 and thought I'd present it as a discussion topic:

On the flip side, there is also the issue of claiming stories are fake or a hoax, when they are actually substantiated by evidence or even legally proven in court. Do you think it is getting harder to discern what is actually true and what isn't or has it always been that way?
