Dilation /effaced at labor?

How dilated/effaced were you when you went into labor? And the time before that if you were getting checked weekly

I was induced with my first. 1 cm when we started. Cervical softening and pitocin. Broke my water at 2 cm because she was zero station. 5 1/2 hrs later...baby was born. 
Spontaneous labor with my second. I called L&D when my contractions were 5 mins apart, lasting for a minute, for at least an hour. They had me come for a check. I was 2-3 cm dilated, not sure on effacement. Confirmed early stages of labor. Said I could wait a few hours and be checked again or labor down at home. I said labor down at home but if 5-1-1 didn't work for me, when do I come in because I'm like 45 mins away on a good traffic day 😅 they said oh you'll know. Jokes on them. 3 days later contractions woke me just after midnight. Not painful. Just enough that I was aware they were happening. Got up made coffee gave it a bit. They weren't slowing down. Got my husband up around 1:30 and called MIL over to sit with our daughter. Got to the hospo around 2:30 am. Triaged. 4-5 cm dilated with a bulging bag. COVID test, negative. Admitted to L&D to have a baby. Got our room at 3:28 am. 45 mins later I was pushing. He was born at 4:21 am. No time for pain meds. Contractions were never really bad at all. I was talking through them and shocked everyone when I said I needed to push. Including myself 🤣🤣

I was 3cm when contractions started but I wouldn’t say I felt like I was in active labor until after 5cm. That’s when labor really transitioned

My son was born at 34+5 and my wasn’t anything only my water broke they gave me pitocin to start everything. My current pregnancy with my daughter I am 36 weeks tomorrow and I’ve been 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated since 32 weeks when she was trying to come early.
