Part of being a PARENT (mother or father) is putting your child’s needs before anyone else’s. Having a child changes the dynamic of just about every single part of your life. Thankfully, I picked a partner who recognizes that.

According to who? That’s a broad generalization of “mothers”. It’s normal for a person’s priorities to shift when they become a parent - children need attention to grow and thrive.

Have you had kids before? 🤣 they have a new human all of a sudden that needs you 24/7 so you aren’t getting any sleep for months and constantly busy with baby. It’s not that they don’t care about their husbands. It’s that they have a new life to take care of constantly so things change. I do agree it’s important to devote some time to your partner when you can but it might not be as often as you’d like after feeling drained.
Most moms don’t just stop caring about their partner or something all of a sudden after a baby, life changes completely and it’s a learning process to figure out how to juggle everything with a baby

Instead of being a complete bitch I’ll assume you are a loving partner and involved parent who would just like to feel loved and wants to have that same level of closeness/intimacy you had before becoming parents. 
The newborn stage is demanding and exhausting. A mother who has just given birth is not only caring for a tiny little human, they are also trying to heal their tired, physically recovering body as well attempting to navigate all the emotions caused by hormones being out of wack/juggling their new responsibilities. The newborn stage is basically momma in survival mode. It’s easy to forget to give your partner a hug or tell them you love them when you feel like there’s a tired haze clouding your mind. It’s even harder to make time for cuddling/other intimate activities. I understand the disconnect you may feel from your partner, I’m sure the majority of new parents do as well. It won’t be like that forever. Right now the most important thing is staying by her side and remind her how great she’s doing. Ask her how you can make her day better. Have a conversation if you feel emotionally neglected, but you can’t expect things to stay the same.
