Im trying to buy the necessities for my baby, shes my first and ive never been around people with kids. Is baby powder important? Also what are somw product recommendations that you think are important? Thank you for your advise!

Personally I never had to use baby powder at all. It contains a lot of talc and that usually has asbestos in it so I completely avoided powdering her tush. 
Products I kept were butt cream and gas drops, no specific brand.

I’ve never used baby powder, but I like Earth Mama Diaper cream and also Toups tallow balm. The tallow is my go to for dry skin or cradle cap.

I use Burt’s Bees baby powder (it’s talc free). My baby was so chunky I had to put a little on her thigh rolls 😆 As a toddler, I use it in the summer when she plays outside. She kept getting a yeast rash and the powder helps so much!

* My expert midwife bum oil for whenever you see the bottom is a bit irritated 
* Baby oil to Massage eg coconut oil, Mustela brand’s oil
* incontinence sheets to put over your changing pad - makes it easier in case baby pees whilst changing and it’s soft too so won’t be cold when you place baby on it 
* cotton wool pads to use with water when cleaning baby
* a little container to pour water in for when it’s time to clean baby’s nappy
* a swaddling blanket or pre-made swaddle blanket 
* nail clippers/scissors 
* V cushion for breastfeeding / bottle feeding 
*tommee tippee nappy bin
