Tips for riding on top?

Hey y’all!

I had read somewhere while squatting while riding on top feels soooo much better for the guy, and sometimes the girl!

Usually when I ride on top I just sit on him and slowly lift/bounce, but I tried doing the squatting method and it felt great - UNTIL my legs got tired and wore out. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I can maybe go up and down four times before I’m winded and that’s enough for me.

I think it may have been the angle of the bed too, the mattress sinks in where he lays, and it kind of felt like a deep dip.

Trying not to get into my own head about it but it ruined our evening when I tried to push through the pain and he told me to stop because it wasn’t a good time for him, even if it felt good, watching my face was not a good time lol.

So it’s a blow to my confidence. Just wondering if maybe I’m working too hard or if laying on a harder surface might help?
