38 weeks pregnant and husband got fired

I'm now on maternity leave and my husband came home furious. We used to live in California and my husband works for Walmart. He's worked at Walmart for 6 years. We transferred to Oklahoma and the pay for my husband's job is way less here than in California. Idk if it's just a Walmart thing or what but the rule is if you transfer your to another Walmart for the exact same position that Walmart can not lower your pay even if the people already in that position make less. So my husband was being paid more for a position that people make less in. My husband was so furious and played me a recording of the conversation because he recorded that shit where he's saying "So you're saying I make too much?" And she said "Well kind of. I know we can't lower your pay but we also don't think it's fair we have to pay you so much for working the same job as others making less than you. We do however think you're a great worker and we've loved having you these last 4 months and honestly you're too good for this place. So we think it's best for all of us involved for us to go separate ways."

I can't believe this and neither can my husband because he was loyal to Walmart for so long. They ACCEPTED his transfer just to fire him 4 months later?! Now we are so stressed out. We have a baby that could come at any moment!

@Summer Shandy my issue was why accept his transfer in the first place? It's up to the Walmart you're trying to transfer to to take you. If they would have declined him than he could have found employment elsewhere while still working at the Walmart in California before we move.

Edit: People are failing to realize that they accepted his transfer when they could have just denied it and he would have time to find another job while still working. Instead they accepted it and fired him 4 months later.

@Holly he wasn't given an option to accept lower pay. Like I said idk if it's a Walmart only thing or if it's everywhere but a store can not lower your pay for transferring to another Walmart for the same position. I just don't understand why they didn't just deny his transfer.
