How do fertility drugs work?

What are the different types of fertility drugs, and how do they operate in the body to increase the chances of fertilization?

Answer

The first drugs you take help your follicles grow and keep you them from releasing an egg. Once you get enough growth, you will take a trigger shot that will force ovulation. After that it’s still up the sperm to do it’s job. Your doctor may put you on progesterone to help the uterine lining for optimal implantation and to keep the pregnancy going. 
IVF is different and gives optimal fertilization. And then each fertilized egg continues to grow in cell cultures. You can do 3-5 day natural transfer or the eggs are given 7 days to become an embryo and will be frozen and transferred at a later date. There are different medications you can use prior to transfer for optimal implantation.
