Baby Showers - your thoughts? 🍼👶

Disclaimer: maybe I’m crazy. I’ll accept that. 😂

Here’s my dilemma, and I would like your thoughts!

My first born is going to be 8yo by the time my new baby comes in late in December/early January. I have absolutely no baby stuff left from him, of course, because I really never thought we’d have more children. This baby was a surprise!

My sister and mom are adamant they want to throw me a baby shower this time around again. They said of course people will want to shower this baby just as they did with the first and it’s been so long, no one even cares they all already bought me stuff. But I’m like paranoid people will think that is tacky! What do you think? Would you be annoyed to attend a 2nd baby shower for someone?

I’m in the same boat as you! My oldest will be 7 & 1/2 and my current youngest will be 5 1/2. We got rid of everything last year finally when we decided we were done. Then surprise lol so I’m having a hard time wanting a shower because it’s our surprise so our responsibility! But my husband said with all our friends eager to celebrate this one, maybe we could do a fun diaper party BBQ. Would be a way for them to celebrate with us without the larger obligation of just bringing a gift and nothing much more like vibe of baby showers are. I don’t know, but I understand your dilemma! Right here with you girl!

Ah just do what you want! If you want a baby shower, do it! If you don’t,  don’t do it! 
Who cares what other people think? If they don’t like it, they don’t need to come!

My oldest is 9 and youngest is 5. We have everything already, since we did our shower with our first. We said if this one is a boy, first 2 are girls, we would do a “sprinkle” or diaper party. And ask for diapers, wipes boy clothes. And then anything bigger, we’ll get ourselves.

I had my son in May 2022, due in January and I won’t have a baby shower this time around even though the gender is different because they’ll only be 20 months apart. BUT it’s been 8 years, everyone will be happy to celebrate this new baby and get you the essentials, they really add up. If they’re adamant on throwing you one I say accept the help and gifts babies are expensive lol
