how did you know when you’re done having kids?

i have two kids (5 year old and 1 year old) both boys. and i really really want another one to try for a girl 🥲 . but i just don’t know that it would be fair to my other two kids financially. we’re not super super loaded with money and childcare is pricy 🥺 
i have joint custody with my ex with my 5 year old. so, i have him 50% of the time. i have enough space in my house, i have a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house. i just can’t decide! my husband is cool with whatever i want but he does come from a large family and that’s what he’s used to. idk. how did you know when you were done?

When after my 4th pregnancy, 2nd baby I didn't feel like he was meant to be the last. Granted it would be entirely up to my body if we had another or not. We had a loss before our daughter and a loss before our son. But I was heartbroken at the thought of not at least trying. My husband agreed. We just didn't feel done. Agreed if it was another loss we'd be done completely. Not even try again. Which we did think this pregnancy was our 3rd loss. Started with a lot of bright red bleeding. Turned out to be a SCH. 29 wks now and both baby and I are fine. Everything about this pregnancy/baby feels like it's meant to be the last. I don't look at the future and get sad that we won't have more this time. I'm not sad that I'll never experience pregnancy again. Several doctors had told me it would take a miracle to even get pregnant (proved them wrong 5 times) they said it would take a miracle to carry to term (proven them wrong 3 times), since our first started as a loss I've never enjoyed the pregnancy part anyway. I love the end result but I hate pregnancy. I'm ready to not do it ever again. Ready to put an end to an almost 11 yr journey to having our kiddos and just start really enjoying those kiddos. I'm not sad that this will be my last time experiencing firsts. There are still plenty of firsts to experience with all 3 of them throughout their entire lives. It's just feels final and I'm not sad about that anymore. That's how I know I'm done done.

We have 5 kids and once our last little one was born, we just felt like our family was complete.
