Am i wrong for thinking he overreacted?

My bf and I have been having a lot of issues lately. He’s going on vacation next weekend and I started lightly bleeding today. He usually isn’t someone who likes period sex so I tried to warn him when he was mentioning hooking up tonight. But he said he’d be fine with it because he really wanted it before he leaves. So we did but then as he was pulling out I guess I started bleeding more. So we were using a towel but I couldn’t see because he was behind me when doing all this, so we missed and it got on his bed. He was saying something about it (I can’t remember what exactly now) and I said “I tried to warn you” because I didn’t think it was a big deal. But he got really mad and started going off but I know it was just because he was mad there was blood on his blanket and he was saying how he rents so blood is bad on the carpet. The in person argument is mostly a blur now because I was so upset. But I remember that I was just asking him if he was really that mad about it that he had to be raising his voice and freaking out. He said if I didn’t argue with him then maybe he wouldn’t. I told him I was just leaving then and he followed me and asked if he could still get a kiss. He was still mad so I just got upset and said “do whatever then”. He kissed me and I just left. When we talked again I said I was really hurt. He started saying it was all fine until the towel thing and started saying how he’s done this before and no other girls had this issue. And that he was upset I didn’t just say “you’re right, sorry”. We went back and forth again and he apologized. I told him I wanted space and he said “we don’t have to be done it’s just *another* stupid argument”. But I just feel like on top of other issues, this is one of his last “chances”.
