I sent this message to my husband after being tired of suffering with his narcissistic emotional abuse.How would you respond if you received this?What do you think his response will be

Coming from someone who’s been with a narcissist, I honestly don’t think he will read all of this, let alone care. I think it’s time to just focus on you & ur sons. You can’t change a grown man. You can say whatever you want to him but he’s the only person that can make that change if he really wants his family.

Having been with a narcissist, chances are, he will skim it, pick out points where it seems like he’s being attacked, play victim, and throw it back on you.

If he is truly narcissistic and abusive, he probably won’t even read this. Or he’ll read a few lines, see that his behavior is bothering you and spin it back on you and/or get off on seeing how upset you are

He won't read it or just find a way to blame it all on you. That is what my friends husband did. Everything he did wrong was because of her "forcing" him to be that way. She is finally free of him and with an amazing guy who treats her and her girls so much better.  If you continue to live this way you are only going to teach your children that it is ok to be treated this way or treat others the way you allow yourself to be treated. It is not an easy choice to leave, and can be very scary, but it sounds like the better choice for you.  We are treated the way we allow others to treat us. Keep that in mind.

I would probably never receive a text like this because i don’t behave in this way. If i did receive any text similar, i would address each point and fix the issue, but thats just me. But like the other comment said, he will probably not even read every word or empathize with what you are saying here. My sons dad is a narcissist, i broke up with him 3 years ago, but still deal hear his narcissism, and its pointless trying to state the obvious to him anymore. I couldn’t deal with someone like this. And in my experience it seems like selfish men dont read or care about sincere paragraphs
