Husband said I needed to loose my tummy
Posting anonymously in case anyone on this app knows me .. alittle back story too I had my daughter 2 1/2yrs ago and gained 90lbs in pregnancy started at 150lb pre-pregnancy and the day I gave birth I was 240lb so I gained a decent amount of weight and a week after giving birth I was 220lb I didn’t like how my body looked so I started going to the gym and working really hard to shed the weight I got down to 180lb which is where my weight kinda hit a stand still and didn’t move.. to this day I’m ranging from 180-184lb
My husband came to me today and said he had a hard topic to talk me about so I told him to talk and communicate.. well he then brought up that I needed to loose my belly ( I added pictures below of what I look like) and that my body plays a factor into why he doesn’t want to be intimate with me, and that even though I’m going to the gym I’m not doing enough or that I’m not motivated enough and he’s saying this out of love and care for me because he wants me to become the best version of myself possible. I automatically get mad because when is it ever okay to point out someone’s weight especially when you know they’re still working on it and are insecure about it . Well he then proceeds to tell me he’s allowed to tell me this because he’s my husband and he just wants me to be the best version of my self there is and he’s not body shaming me but instead trying to help me.. but apparently I can’t realized that cause of my emotions we ended up cancelling a date night cause of this fight and I haven’t talked to him since and just have been locked up in our room just crying cause I feel so attacked and fat shamed I just don’t know what to do… cause I never would do this to him cause your supposed to love your spouse no matter how they look and never comment on their weight unless it’s effecting their health and a doctor says something to you..
