What kinds of foods/cereal did yall start your 6mth baby on?? Help plz

I am a first time mother 2 a handsome,smart, beautiful, baby boy, who just turned 6months yesterday (19th) Im not sure on whats the best kinds/brands & what kind of foods/ cereal/ 2 start him on, and how much times a day should i be feeding him. Also do i keep him on his regular formula he drinks now?

Get the "solid starts" app! It shows how to serve pretty much any food based on baby's age. Skip the baby cereal. Avocado is a great first food.

Make sure all ready signs are met first. (Sitting unassisted, loss of tongue thrust reflex etc.). Don’t give cereals as they are not necessary and very unhealthy. Look into BLW. Solids starts on IG is a good place for that info. 
6-8months once a day 
8-10m twice a day. 
10-12m 3x a day
12m+ 3x a day with 2 snacks. 
Always always give formula first then solids 30min after.

Start with solids once per day, after formula feeds, when baby is awake, alert, in a good mood. 
Skip the cereals. Baby can have most foods (no honey, no added sugars, low sodium, nothing hard, crunchy, sticky, etc.) no need to do purées either if you don’t want to. 
Some of our first foods were avocado, banana, broccoli, steak, yogurt.

Formula intake shouldn’t decrease until 12m old.
Avoid baby cereal completely. It’s not beneficial at all. 
Let babe feed themselves. Avoid spoon feeding. 
Broccoli is a fantastic first food. Rib bone is great. Frozen waffle while teething is awesome.

Milk first then solids 30 minutes later. Milk is the main source of nutrition until age 1. 
6-8m 1 solid meal a day
8-10m 2 solid meals a day (babe should be on table food and off purée only if that’s the route taken)
10-12m 3 solid meals a day
12+m 3 solid meals and 2 snacks a day

My first kiddo we were too scared to try baby led until she was like 9 months, so she started with purees. Started with green and orange veggies. Little bits at a time. One at a time for a few days to watch for immediate and delayed reactions. Once we knew she was good, move to the next. After veggies we did fruits. I did end up cutting them with baby cereal (mixed grain never any with rice in them.) Because straight apples gave her the runs and straight bananas constipated her. Cutting with cereal kept her more regular. 
With our second kiddo, baby led all the way. He never had purees. We were way more relaxed with him. He ate anything and everything we ate.

Same formula. No cereal. You can give him anything you eat. Just in age appropriate sized pieces. Solid starts app is a good place to start.
