When did you transition your kid from crib to toddler bed?

My girl is almost 22 months but is trying to climb out of the crib. If I put her in a toddler bed, I don’t trust her to be out of her bed unsupervised at night and she will probably try to get out of her room and who knows what. Any advice ?

I would definitely not let her roam around at night. We got a wake/sleep clock for my son (he was 2.5 when we switched him). It stays on red for night time, and turns green in the morning when it’s ok to get out of bed. He did great with it. If she’s trying to climb out of the crib, she definitely needs to be in a big bed, whether twin bed, toddler bed, or a mattress on the floor.

When they start trying to climb out of the crib for safety reasons it’s best to switch to the toddler bed I put a gate up at her door because she know how to open doors I keep her video baby monitor on at all times and she is doing so good in her big girl bed

My daughters been in one since 15m. She already had a twin bed in her room and asked to sleep there one night. She did great so we continued it. 
We do have a baby gate at the doorway. And a baby monitor to show the whole room. We haven’t had any issues. 
For our son (11m) we will play it by ear once we move. He probably won’t switch until closer to 2.

My son was 3 and it was an easy switch. We let him pick out his own bed, sheets, comforters, new pillows, everything.

They’re in the crib that converts to toddler bed. At 2 that’s when we turned it to toddler bed

We did at 1 for my oldest and 2 for second put a baby gate up in front of there bedroom

I put my son in a toddler bed at 3 years old. But he never tried to climb out. I put child proof door handles on the inside so he couldn’t get out. And made sure everything in his room was child safe. I have a video monitor so I could see what he was doing. And I’d watch until he fell asleep.
