Fiancée keeps clothes from his ex?

Should I be concerned that my fiancée keeps clothes from his ex? When they were dating they got matching superman shirts to watch the Superman premiere. He kept both of their shirts and insists on not throwing hers out, even though that relationship was obviously years ago. Otherwise we have a good relationship. I asked him why he didn’t throw it out one day and his response was “so I can’t make my own decisions about clothes now?” When it was honestly just a question from me.

Just a little story. I had made my then boyfriend a teddy bear at the beginning of our relationship. We had kids, broke up, split custody and i was married and he was dating someone. His GF found the teddy in his closet and wanted to throw it away. He wouldn't let her and cited the kids loving the bear as his reason. Turns out, he didn't want to get rid of it because he still loved me and wanted to keep a memory of our relationship with him. We're back together after years of being separated and the bear lives on our bed now. Yeah, I wouldn't feel comfortable with him keeping tokens of past relationships like someone's shirt. I would understand if it was a practical item but unless he's squeezing into it, that would be cause for concern to me. And coupled with his reaction to a question about the shirt, he sounds like he's not over that relationship.
