Pain and fear

Hello everyone! I've had two Mirena IUSs fitted before and I experienced such severe pain it's putting me off getting another one. I need to sort my contraception out and other options are working as well. I am planning on asking for a numbing injection/gel and I'm interested to hear how that worked out for anyone who's had it?

PS- I have a crazy retroverted uterus and I've developed anxiety about gynaecological procedures.

I'd really appreciate some honest advice/reading genuine experience.
