Can an exclusively breastfed baby (newborn) be constipated? My 7 week old has not been pooping everyday since she was about 3 weeks old! She develops gas which we thought was normal gas from crying or maybe something in my diet. Changes in my diet have not reduced the gas and when she does poop the gas she passes is definitely different from when she doesn’t poop everyday! The non poop gas is stinky, she cries everytime she passes gas and 3 days later when she poops, it has the same gas stink. The poop gas doesn’t stink and she doesn’t seem to mind when passing gas. Also when she poops after a prolonged period, her poop (still yellow) is definitely thicker, a lot (obviously), stinks and is paste like with seedy curds. Sometimes she poops 3 days in a row and it’ll be watery with seedy curds and it doesn’t stink at all. This leads me to believe that she might be constipated! Has anybody else seen this? What did you guys try?
