What’s it like going from 1 baby, to 2?

My son is 10 months old and I’m so ready for another baby…. I think. Well, emotionally yes but I do think how do you keep on top of everything!! 
What’s the transition like? What’s an ideal age gap

I waited until my oldest was almost 3 to try and get pregnant. I love the big gap because my first is potty trained, very independent and can push herself on the swing which may sound silly but it allows me freedom to be with baby at the park! Going from 1-2 was the hardest since I felt like I wasn’t able to spend as much quality time with my first. The first 6 months were hard even though there wasn’t much jealousy. Now that baby is 1.5 years old we are all doing great and are used to being a family of 4.

My second is 15 weeks right now. My first was 3 years and 1 month when my second was born. I started trying when my first was 1 as I wanted a close age gap but it took a while to get pregnant and I had 2 miscarriages. I was so sad to lose the closer age nap but 3 years ended up being perfect and meant to be. My first was fully potty trained and more independent, so I think it was easier than if he were younger. That being said, he's got the 3 year old big feelings which has been hard and it's still hard juggling both. It's been much harder going from 1-2 than 0-1 for me. I think it would have been even harder if my first was younger and still needing a lot more hands on care. I had a lot of help from my mom in the beginning and still which has been huge as it's really rocked my world haha.

Mine are 21m apart and I wish I’d waited longer. My baby is 10mo now and we’re just starting to feel like the day to day is somewhat manageable. But honestly the first 10 months have been pretty miserable.
Going from 0-1 was a breeze for me but the transition from 1-2 kids has been incredibly hard.

I’m almost 11 weeks into my transition from 1 to 2 and it’s been a slight shock to the system if I’m honest 😅
My first daughter is 6 years old - neurodiverse, high energy and needs plenty of stimulation - so it’s been quite an adjustment with me not being able to give her as much undivided attention. Coupled with the fact that baby has struggled really badly with reflux and it affected her ability to sleep; so she was almost always in my arms or a baby carrier. My dog and cat have had to adjust to the changes as well so that’s an added layer. 
I might not have found it as challenging if my ex was a decent, present partner but I’m doing it alone so I believe that plays a big part. 
Regardless, we’re making strides in the right direction every day & I’m slowly getting to spend some time with my oldest and get bits of other things done; so I’m very grateful my 6 year old is as independent as she is or I think I’d be finding it MUCH harder!

I went from one to two this year. There’s a 22 month gap between them. My first is highly strung.. very high energy and easily aggravated. He haaated the newborn to begin with, tantrums every time he cried because of the noise. He’s struggled losing some of our attention and will act out by shoving his cot or climbing etc. it’s not been easy but luckily the newborn is suuuper chilled. He’s nearly 3 months and it’s getting easier but if I wasn’t 34 and felt the pressure of the clock, I’d probably have given it a bit longer to be honest

My first two were 17 months apart. My first has a high needs personality….and she was not happy. I swear she cried non-stop for like a year. 😭 We have four, having our fifth, and SO FAR the transition from ￼1 to 2 has been the hardest, purely because of the personalities involved.

The first 6 months was a little tricky, but my second fell into the same routine as my first born. It was easier going from 1-2 than from 0-1. Their gap is 2 years. I think 2-4 years is the perfect age gap. My sister had hers 18 months apart and seems to struggle still to this day and they’re 3 and 1.
